The
Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) attended the DOH’s event,
"Moving Forward Together: Public Health Services Team and Partners'
Meeting," held on January 25, 2023, at Casa Ibarra in Manila. The
Department of Health (DOH) organized the meeting to discuss the health sector
strategy and programs.
PAP
was represented by Dr. Lolina Badjin and Ms. Joanne Trina Moreno-Javier, who
are PAP Board of Trustees members.
The
meeting was attended by representatives from various health sectors, including
the public and private sectors. The DOH presented current programs in place and
the strategic plan (5-Year Plan) for the health sector.
The
DOH also gave updates on the CDC Bill, which was then in its technical working group
phase. The CDC Bill is a proposed law that would create a Center for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Philippines.
The
implications of the CDC Bill for PAP and the information was sent to the PAP
Board of Trustees for reference.
The
meeting was a productive discussion of the health sector strategy. PAP is
committed to working with the DOH to implement this strategy and improve the
health of all Filipinos.
