2021 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Board of Directors
Psychological Association of the Philippines
This is an official Call for Nominations to the PAP Board of Directors. In September 2021, the terms of five of the current PAP Board Members will expire.
Starting 2019, the PAP implemented a provision in the amended PAP By-Laws that you ratified in 2018, in particular Article VII, Section 2. Thus, we elected six new members of the Board in September 2019 and 2020.
This September, we will be electing seven new members to the Board of Directors—the two with the highest number of votes (from any region) are designated Directors-at-Large; the four others will be the top voted from each of four geographic regions—NCR, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The other one will be from Visayas since the said spot was not taken last year since there was only one candidate from Visayas and he was elected as one of the Directors-at-Large. However, the winner for this position will only serve for two years since his/her term started last year.
We will not have an election for the Leadership Council (Division and SIG Chairperson) this year since those who were elected last year shall serve for two years.
We are inviting PAP members to nominate candidates for the Board. We encourage you to nominate at minimum three from each region (in case the Directors-at-Large both come from the same region).
Qualifications of Board of Directors:
Each must be willing to serve on the Board for the period October 2021 to September 2024.
Please note that in a vote during the March 18, 2019 BOD meeting, representation of each organization (i.e. university/college, company, etc.) is now limited to two board members serving at the same time. This practice was put in place to ensure that the board represents as many different organizations or institutions as possible. Please check with your nominee’s organization/institution if they already meet this limit.
Any member of the PAP (Affiliate or Regular) may nominate a candidate. Self-nominations are also welcome.
If you are interested in nominating someone, please write to the PAP Executive Director at executivedirector@pap.ph to inquire into the active membership of your nominee. Once the Executive Director confirms the nominee’s active membership, you then ask the nominee to submit the following:
A) MANIFESTATION LETTER indicating:
B) Short Bio - no more than 150 words.
C) A statement of what the candidate will contribute to PAP if elected (no more than 150 words).
D) 2x2 half-body picture in formal attire (jpeg)
The documentary requirements need to be sent via email to: rrresurreccion@pap.ph and pap_1962_08@yahoo.com during the period starting June 14, 2021 (Monday) until August 14, 2021, (Saturday) 12:00 o’clock noon. The subject line of the email shouldindicate Nomination for PAP Board.
All nominee information will be published and posted on August 23, 2021 (Monday) and every week thereafter until voting ends.
Only Regular members of the PAP who have paid their 2021-2022 membership dues are eligible to vote.
There will be only one way to vote: the eligible PAP member votes online. Online votes from ineligible persons (upon confirmation by the PAP secretariat) will be discarded.
Online voting begins September 1, 2021 and ends September 30, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Winners will be announced on October 2, 2021 during the Closing Ceremony of the 2021 PAP Convention.
